Membership
ITE—A Community of Transportation Professionals (ITE) works to improve mobility and safety for all transportation system users, helping to build smart and livable communities.
Founded in 1930, ITE is a volunteer-driven association of more than 18,000 engineers, planners, consultants, educators, researchers, technologists, and students working in more than 78 countries.
ITE Gateway Section (GSITE) is affiliated with the ITE Missouri Valley District. We provide opportunities for professional development and community building at the regional and local levels through annual meetings, training, luncheons, and connecting members with area Student Chapters.
GSITE serves the metropolitan St. Louis area, consisting of the City of St. Louis, as well as the following counties in Missouri: Clark, Lewis, Marion, Ralls, Pike, Lincoln, Warren, St. Charles, St. Louis, Franklin, Jefferson, Crawford, Washington, St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve, Iron, Reynolds, Madison, Perry, Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Carter, Wayne, Ripley, Butler, Stoddard, Scott, Dunklin, Mississippi, New Madrid, and Pemiscot plus the Illinois Counties of Calhoun, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Bond, St. Clair, Clinton, and Monroe.
Following are the goals of GSITE:
Serve as the primary affiliation for ITE members at the local level
Support the overall goals and objectives of ITE
Support MOVITE activities and coordinate with the MOVITE District in carrying out the Gateway Section mission and purpose
Financially support and coordinate with ITE Central Missouri Chapter (CMITE) within the Section
Foster closer association of ITE members
Encourage members to share knowledge
Consider local transportation issues
Collaborate with other local transportation professionals on matters of common interest
Present points of view consistent with established ITE policies
Support and mentor students and the student chapters within the Section including the University of Missouri-Columbia (Mizzou), University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL)/Washington University (WashU), Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville (SIUE), and St. Louis University (SLU).
Membership in GSITE is available only through becoming a member of ITE.

Who may join?
GSITE is open to all involved in the transportation industry in the GSITE area, including engineers, technicians, planners, designers, safety professionals, and anyone else interested in the industry.
